Lavigne's Success Comes Home

Complicated singer Avril Lavigne has become such a big star, the mayor's office in her Canadian hometown has set up a plan of action to deal with interview requests.

Grammy-nominated Lavigne, 18, who hails from the small town of Napanee, Ontario, which has a population of just 5,000, has brought so much attention to the quaint location, Mayor David Remington has instituted an "Avril communications plan" to field dozens of interview requests.

Remington says, "She's brought Napanee onto the world stage."

Napanee will also host a Grammy party at Lavigne's former school Napanee District High.

Remington adds, "She always said she would be a rock star. She's a role model for young people."
