Hudson: I'm Red, Goldie's White
Kate Hudson may be a pretty blonde actress like her mother Goldie Hawn, but they're completely different people - she's a 'red' person compared to her 'white' mom.
The How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days star has followed in Goldie's famous footsteps, and bears an uncanny resemblance to her mother - but, as far as Kate's concerned, that's where the similarity ends.
She explains, "You know my mom's a Buddist? Well, she went to see a lama or a guru or whatever you call it and he said something very interesting. He said, 'Your daughter teaches you the colour red. And you are supposed to teach her the colour white.'
"I thought that was a very good and nice way of explaining the differences between us. Because what is meant by 'red' was that I'm a feisty person.
"I like to get into arguments and debates with my brothers and dad and friends. I like to get my point across - sometimes too much so.
"And what he meant by 'white' was the qualities my mother does try and teach me, like compassion, ease with myself, letting things be and happen the way they are going instead of trying to control them."
