Colin Hanks and Kieran Culkin set for London Debut
Hanks and Culkin are set to tread the boards of London's West End, but it's not Oscar winner Tom or former child star Macaulay, but their less well known relatives.
Forest Gump star Tom Hanks' son Colin and Home Alone star Macaulay's brother Kieran are to star in "This Is Our Youth" at the Garrick theatre. And it will be the first time either of them have stepped onto a stage in public.
The pressure is on for Colin too as his father Tom is set to be in the audience to witness his son's debut performance next Wednesday, November 20th.
Hanks plays the role of Dennis, a teenage drug dealer, which has previously been played by Good Will Hunting star Matt Damon and Star Wars Episode Two star Hayden Christensen.
Of his character, Hanks says, "He's pretty unpleasant but I identify with his anger, and yeah, I kind of like him."
"There's no safety net with this play; you're proud to be an actor, up there on stage every night. In LA, I think the word actor has much more of a negative connotation. I don't like saying I'm an actor. Everyone else is or wants to be one there."
Culkin has not disclosed whether his big brother will be in attendance.
