Claire Danes For Novel Adaptation

Actress Claire Danes is in negotiations to star in a new romantic comedy called "Shopgirl," which is based on a novel by Steve Martin.

Anand Tucker will direct the project, which would see Danes play Mirabelle, a salesgirl and aspiring artist.

She is torn between the two men in her life - a wealthy divorcee, played by "Pare actor Martin, and a struggling musician called Jeremy.

Filming is expected to begin in Los Angeles in January.
