Sam Gives Eminem Another Acting Chance

Just months after his attack on rappers who turn to acting, Samuel L. Jackson has praised Eminem's movie debut 8 Mile.

Earlier this summer the 'Jackie Brown' star hit out at hip-hoppers like Snoop Dogg and Dr Dre, accusing them of stealing film roles from genuine actors.

But Samuel confesses he's prepared to give Eminem - real name Marshall Mathers III - another chance after being impressed by trailers for 8 Mile.

Samuel says of the flick - which is based around the rappers early years in Detroit - "I saw the trailers for 8 Mile the other day. It looked like a great film. It's got a great pedigree.

"You've got an Academy Award winning director (Curtis Hanson), and an Academy Award winning actress (Kim Basinger) in it.

"And Eminem looks like he's doing a great job playing Eminem.

"But when he decides to do his next movie, if they want him to be a cop, a college student or college professor, a lawyer or whatever, then we'll decide whether he's an actor or not."
