Enrique's Dashed Soccer Dreams

Enrique Iglesias had dreams of a career in a totally different arena - on the soccer field.

The singer held great aspirations of scoring in the net, but soon found himself getting points in the pop charts instead.

Enrique, who moved to Florida to live with his father Julio Iglesias in 1983, says, "I remember coming from Spain to America when I was eight years old and playing in this soccer league."

"I was the star player because I grew up playing it. I won for the team a bunch of times. Unfortunately, I got worse and worse until I just had to stop playing. I became more of a geek and not the cool guy."

But the singer is picking up another sport which he one day hopes to master - and his girlfriend Anna Kournikova is giving him a helping hand.

He explains, "She's teaching me tennis. I suck right now but I'm really getting into it."
