Shiri Appleby's Fear of Water

Actress Shiri Appleby says that "Swimfan's" ending was changed after production began, leaving her to confront her fear of water.

According to Zap2it.com, the movie's original ending found Appleby's character being attacked in a hospital but the director changed the scene's location to a swimming pool at the last minute.

In order to feel comfortable underwater, Appleby learned how to scuba dive. The experience was helpful, as the actress spent two days filming the scene and was underwater for most of the time. Appleby tells Zap2it.com, "Actually, I'm rather proud of the fact that I did it. It was very scary."

"Swimfan" was released last Friday and has become a box office hit.
