Gellar Won 'Scooby' Director Over
Comments
Sarah Michelle Gellar has revealed she had to twist the arm of "Scooby-Doo" director Raja Gosnell in order to get the part of Daphne in the new cartoon adaptation.
Even though Gellar had the necessary karate skills to play the beefed-up part, Gosnell could not picture the actress as redhead Daphne. Gellar, eager for the part, located the character sketches the producers had commissioned and tried to imitate the specified body language Daphne had been given - in particular, the hip jut.
Gellar explains, "I had to win him over. They sent us slides from the original sketches of how the characters stood, so to get the part I'd just stand there all day and practice how to get my hip jutted out to just that right amount."
