Winona Skips Premiere

Alleged shoplifter Winona Ryder didn't attend the New York premiere of her new movie "Mr. Deeds" because she is nervous about her court case.

The actress was arrested in December 2001 for allegedly stealing $4,900 worth of designer goods from Beverly Hills store Saks Fifth Avenue, and faces charges of theft and possession of a controlled sunbstance.

Her representative explains, "She is in the heart of other issues going on. I think she has done her best to support the picture."
