MTV Movie Awards Results
"The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring" and "Moulin Rouge" were the big winners at Saturday night's MTV Movie Awards.
The movies claimed two prizes apiece at the quirky annual film prizegiving.
"The Lord of the Rings" was handed the Best Movie award and the prize for Best Breakthrough Male (Orlando Bloom), while "Moulin Rouge's" Nicole Kidman won top honours for Best Female Performance and her duets with co-star Ewan McGregor captured the Best Musical Sequence award.
The couple, who were favourites to pick up the event's Best Kiss prize, lost out to Jason Biggs' awkward homosexual smooch with Sean William Scott in "American Pie 2."
Other winners at the Los Angeles event included Will Smith, who picked up the Best Male Performance award for "Ali"; pop star Mandy Moore (Best Female Breakthrough for "A Walk to Remember"); Denzel Washington (Best Villain for "Training Day"); Vin Diesel and Paul Walker (Best Onscreen Team for "The Fast and the Furious"), and Reese Witherspoon (Best Comedic Performance for "Legally Blonde").
