Leo And Diaz Dump On Paparazzi

Leonardo DiCaprio and Cameron Diaz had a bonding moment on the Roman set of "Gangs of New York" - when they took their revenge on troublesome paparazzi.

The superstar duo were plagued by reporters and photographers who'd heard the now-common reports of trouble on the set of the Martin Scorsese film.

And one night, as the cast filmed outside the famous Villa Borghese, the press crossed the line. A carriage being used in the period flick overturned, and an extra was hurt.

Insider Ted Casablancas reveals, "The photographers had their moment. Flash, snap, click - to hell with being sensitive."

"Likewise, Leo 'n' Cam finally had their chance. So outraged by the vulture-esque behaviour of the media, the stars got some buckets filled with horse manure. (Many of the four-legged creatures were being utilized in the pic.) Lift, aim and...dump!

"The journalists, as a result, were absolutely splattered, much to the delight of the put-upon celebs. (They were so ecstatic.)"

And while their antics may have antagonised the press, who recently lambasted the pair during a Cannes film festival promotional appearance, they were good for on-set morale.

An insider says, "Cameron was absolutely beloved by the crew. Always."
