Hartnett Needed Comedy

Josh Hartnett jumped at the chance to appear in new comedy "40 Days and 40 Nights" because he was sick of starring in serious films.
The Hollywood actor filmed the romance flick - in which he stars alongside Shannyn Sossamon - between shooting war dramas "Pearl Harbor" and "Black Hawk Down".
And Josh, who plays a web designer who vows to give up sex for Lent, says it was nice to escape the battlefield for a few months. He explains, "I actually did this movie between Black Hawk Down and Pearl Harbor."
"The reason that I chose it, aside from it being a good concept and a funny idea, I just wanted to get away from vanity-stricken roles and let it all hang out."
