Ryan Phillippe's Cereal-filled Days

Actor Ryan Phillippe is relieved to have succeeded in Hollywood - because he'd still be living off cereal if he hadn't.

The star arrived in Los Angeles so poor that he was forced to survive on crunchy breakfast foods until landing his big screen debut in "Crimson Tide."

He recalls, "When I got to LA, I was eating cereal all the time. I'd live off a box for a week. Coca-Puffs or Mini Wheats."

But the 27-year-old actor, who's married to Reese Witherspoon, 26, says he was confident he'd eventually get his big break.

Ryan adds, "I felt there had to be a science to the success thing in this industry, and that sooner or later I'd figure it out."
