Britney Receives MTV Movie Award Nomination

Britney Spears has been nominated for the 2002 MTV Movie Awards "Best Breakthrough Female Prize" for her role in her debut film "Crossroads."
Despite the road movie being critically panned, the singer/actress will battle Mandy Moore, Penelope Cruz, Shannyn Sossamon and Anne Hathaway for the gong.
Britney's official site comments, "It's not surprising when you consider how hard Britney worked on 'Crossroads,' and that she conceived the role of Lucy herself."
