J.Lo Having the Time of Her Life

singer and actress Jennifer Lopez, busy enough with film and music projects, is also branching out into production and entrepreneurship, leaving her no time to think about having babies, for now.

"I'll say it again, that's just another unfounded rumor. I'm not pregnant," Lopez told EFE with a smile.

The 31-year-old star is enjoying what she considers to be one of the best moments of her life and says she wants to take full advantage of her many opportunities.

Lopez, who has a new contract with Colombia Pictures for three films as an actress and producer and whose musical career is on the rise, was named by Premiere magazine as one of the 100 most powerful people in Hollywood.

She also is promoting a clothing line, has opened a new restaurant in Pasadena, east of Los Angeles, and is preparing a television series roughly based on her life.

She stars in the new film "Enough," which includes the duet "Alive" performed by Lopez and her husband Chris Judd. "I'm human and I get tired like everybody else," Lopez said. "But it's difficult to stop at such a creative moment in my life."

Lopez's public appearance was intended to promote "Enough," the story of a mother driven to extremes to put an end to her husband's physical abuse.

According to Irwin Winkler, the film's producer, the role perfectly suits someone with "a personality as strong" as Lopez's.

Scriptwriter Nicholas Kazan said Lopez's performance makes the audience understand a person who is forced to take control of her life by force.

"First and foremost, it's an action film that's full of suspense," Lopez said. She added, however, that "Enough" also carries a "positive message," reminding women that they are the ones who control their lives.

Reaction to sneak previews of "Enough," which is scheduled for release in theatres on May 24, has been less than promising. Initial viewings prompted laughter among viewers despite the serious nature of the subject matter.

Lopez, who was named "star of the year" by the National Association of Theater Owners, also became in 2001 the first artist with a film ("The Wedding Planner") and an album ("J-Lo") topping the charts in the same week.

Lopez is preparing a pilot episode for a new television situation comedy about a Hispanic family in the Bronx. The show is closely modeled on her own life.

"Just as my character (in "Enough") was determined to regain her power as a woman - because we give so much of ourselves we do ourselves harm - I'm determined to do what I want with my life," Lopez said.

According to Gunnar Peterson, the star's personal trainer for the film, "Jennifer has more determination that any woman I've ever known."
