The Rock's Silver Screen Career

With the potential to become one of Hollywood's leading men, Dwayne Johnson (aka - The Rock) says he soon might be doing more acting on film than in the wrestling ring.

"I honestly don't know how long I can balance both having gone through what I did this past year," said Johnson, who was run ragged in January and February, splitting time between WWF television tapings and re-shooting scenes for "The Scorpion King" in California. "I did all I possibly could to balance both, and it nearly killed me."

Johnson, 29, is so serious about a Hollywood career that he prepared for "The Scorpion King" by working with acting coach Larry Moss, whose other clients include Helen Hunt and Jim Carrey.

"It really helped a lot in terms of getting my emotions to where they needed to be," Johnson said. "In the WWF, you have one take because it's live TV. With the luxury of film, you can do 15 takes if you want to find something emotionally different."

Johnson already has tentative plans to film another movie this summer that he describes as an "action comedy."
