Nick Carter Arrested

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Backstreet Boy Nick Carter was arrested after refusing to follow police officers' orders to leave a nightclub after a fight broke out.

This is the second incident involving a member of the Backstreet Boys in less than a year (AJ McLean admitted to alcohol problems in summer 2001)

Carter was charged Wednesday with resisting/opposing a law enforcement officer without violence. He was handcuffed at the nightclub, placed in a police car and released on his own recognizance.

Carter released a statement Tursday saying he did nothing wrong. "I truly believe my celebrity motivated the officer to arrest me," he said. "I am certain that after a full investigation of the facts my name will be cleared."

Carter's court appearance is set for March 4.
