Winona Ryder Arrested for Shoplifting
According to Zap2it.com, Oscar-nominated actress Winona Ryder was arrested on Wednesday night at Saks Fifth Avenue department store in Beverly Hills and charged with shoplifting nearly $5,000 worth of merchandise, police said on Thursday.
Ryder "was booked for grand theft and found in possession of prescription drugs without a prescription. She was released on $20,000 bail," said Stephanie Ochoa, a Beverly Hills police spokeswoman.
Ryder has revealed several personal problems over the years. In the early 1990s she admitted herself to a hospital for treatment of anxiety attacks, exhaustion, and depression. This past August Ryder was diagnosed with a severe gastroenterological disorder after complaining of severe stomach pain.
After growing up on a hippie commune, Winona became a Hollywood star in the late eighties and was engaged to Johnny Depp from 1990-1993. Her movies include "Girl, Interrupted," "Little Women," "Dracula," and "Edward Scissorhands."
