Rachael Leigh Cook's New Roles

Rachael Leigh Cook is ready for more movie roles after her leading performance in Josie and the Pussycats.

According to Zap2it.com, the actress is going the independent route, starring in "Bookies," and independent feature about four college friends who become small-time bookies (one who accepts and pays off bets, as on a horserace). Successful at their new hobby, the foursome soon attracts attention from the mob. Production on "Bookies" begins next week.

And that's not all. Rachael will also star in a thriller called "American Crime" about a news crew reporting on a string of deaths in their small town. Kip Pardue of "Driven" fame is also considering a part in the movie.
