Affleck Talks About Fame's Sacrifice

Ben Affleck knows he must give up certain aspects of normal life for his celebrity.

"I'm absolutely OK with it. I have to be - it's sort of a Faustian bargain, and I recognize it, there are a lot of sacrifices," Affleck said during an interview Tuesday on ABC's "Good Morning America" while promoting his new film, "Pearl Harbor," which opens Friday.

Being famous makes dating difficult, for example. The 28-year-old actor had a much-publicized romance a couple of years with Gwyneth Paltrow, with whom he co-starred last year in the romantic drama "Bounce."

"You know, most people don't have normal romantic lives. ... For one thing, normal being a relative term," Affleck said. "I don't have a girlfriend right now. I've certainly decided it may be that way for a while and that's OK."
