Models Consider Movie Careers

Perhaps it's a result of dating a movie star: Gisele Bundchen, who announced her semi-retirement from the catwalks last fashion season, is reportedly looking into starting a career on the big screen.

The Brazilian bombshell, who is engaged to actor Leonardo DiCaprio, is said to be keen on landing a role in a $6 million movie about the leader of the Brazilian sect, called Muckers. The Muckers were a group of German immigrants in Brazil in the 19th century and a thorn in the side of the state, as well as the Catholic Church. Sect leader Jacobina died during a shoot-out with government troops.

Also in the race for the role of Jacobina is Brazilian soap star Ana Paula Arosio. Though Bundchen has no acting experience, some insiders say her enthusiasm may get her what she wants.

Also eager to find a good script is Naomi Campbell. The supe told British magazine Heat: "Making a film is what I want to do now. But it is a case of finding the right script." Campbell is going to be busy if her film career takes off. As FWD reported yesterday, she's also keen to give her much-ridiculed music career another shot.

Meanwhile, Campbell is currently suffering from two broken toes after crushing her buggy into a tree while playing golf in the Bahamas.
