2Gether Star Dies
2Gether star Michael Cuccione has died.
Michael found fame on MTV when the 2Gether series parodied the boyband phenomenon and became stars in their own right. Michael (a.k.a "QT") died of cancer complications in Vancouver, Canada, his hometown.
Below is a statement from Michael's parents regarding the passing of their son.
***
It is with deep regret that we announce the passing away of Michael Cuccione, the young Canadian star of MuchMusic and MTV's "2Gether" series.
Michael fought a courageous battle with collapsed lungs complicated by pneumonia. As in the past, when he successfully warded off cancer, he remained a positive force to the end.
Michael will be remembered as the recipient of the BCTV / Dairy Queen's Saturday's Child Award honouring a young person who is a positive role model for other children and makes a meaningful contribution to society. His annual fundraisers held in Vancouver, Edmonton, and Toronto have raised half a million dollars to help in the battle against childhood cancer and to improve the lives of cancer patients.
Michael will also be remembered for his talent, his gifts as a singer, musician, songwriter, and actor, but most of all for his tremendous will to live and his infectious smile. His life was short but very rich and we are proud to have known him.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Michael Cuccione Foundation for Cancer Research would be greatly appreciated so that Michael's dream never dies:

The family wishes to extend an invitation to all who knew and loved Michael to join them for a prayer service on Wednesday, January 17th at 7:00pm at St. Helens Church located at 3800 Triumph St in Burnaby. The funeral will be Thursday morning at 10:00am at the same address.
Sincerely,
Robert Carrier & Kristina Van De Walle
