Claire Danes' Upcoming Movie

Claire Danes will play the lead in a movie directed by Thomas Vinterberg, one of Denmark's best-known filmmakers, the movie company said Wednesday.

Danes, the star of TV's "My So Called Life" and such films as "The Rainmaker" and "Romeo + Juliet," will play Elena, a world-famous ice skating star, in the $10 million English-language picture "It's All About Love." Shooting is scheduled to start in mid-April.

The movie - to be shot in Denmark, Sweden and New York, among other places - tells the story of two lovers and their attempts to save their floundering relationship in a near-future world on the brink of spiritual collapse, according to a news release from Nimbus Film.

Vinterberg directed the Danish-language movie "The Celebration," which won the Special Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival in 1998.
