Cruise And Cruz Come Together

Spanish actress Penelope Cruz is making an English version of her hit movie "Abre Los Ojos" - but this time her hunky co-star in the romantic thriller "Vanilla Sky" is all-American Tom Cruise.

Jerry Maguire director Cameron Crowe has been enticed to work with Cruise again in the English language adaptation, originally written and directed by Spanish director Alejandro Amenabar.

The story follows a rich womanizer who falls in love with his best friend's girlfriend, and has long been a passion of Cruise's.

Tom Cruise bought the film's English-language remake rights in 1998 and persuaded Crowe - known in the past for his romantic comedies - to direct "Vanilla Sky."

In a strange twist of fate, Amenabar is currently helming his English language debut "The Others," starring Cruise's wife Nicole Kidman.
