Movie Review: Urban Legends: Final Cut

What do you get when you combine a university, film students and a killer? A really whacked-up job. "Urban Legends: Final Cut" is a real gore and scream flick.

Amy (Jennifer Morrison) is the main character in this movie. A film student in her final year, she decides the script for her movie-thesis will be about a serial killer whose signature is based on urban legends. While filming, scary things start occurring, people begin dying and disappearing.

I'm not what you would call a horror fanatic. In fact I usually stay away from them like the plague and only went to this one because of professional obligations. Thankfully, I found it had a lot of comic relief. The laughs came especially from Graham (Joseph Lawrence) and Stan (Anthony Anderson). Graham, the rich stuck up film brat and Stan, the props man, combined for laughter much needed amongst the gore and suspense. I'll always be grateful to Joseph and Anthony, a person can only sit in their seats in scared anticipation for so long.

I'm very susceptible to freaking out at scary movies. Especially when there is a build up of suspenseful music, you know, the music where you are certain something bad is going to happen soon. AHHHHH! But, hey, what else would you expect from a horror/suspense movie? I give "Urban Legends: Final Cut" three out of five stars.
