Macaulay Culkin & wife split

Macaulay Culkin, 19, star of the 1990 mega-hit movie "Home Alone" has split from his wife after just two years of marriage, US media reported.

His spokesman confirmed to the New York Post that Culkin and his wife, 20-year old actress Rachel Miner were going their separate ways.

"They have temporarily separated," publicist Paul Bloch told the daily late last week. "It is very amicable, and they remain the best of friends," he said.

Miner had a leading role in the Broadway play "The Diary of Anne Frank."

The pair were both just 17 when they tied the knot in June, 1998.

The breakup of his marriage is the latest in a series of setbacks for Culkin, who once was Hollywood's hottest child star.

His career nosedived following a bitter custody dispute between his parents, and he has been savaged by critics for his roles in a string of box office flops after the unpredecented success of "Home Alone."
